FOSTER CARE (Click here for application)

As many of  you know, Prairie Paws Rescue has no facilities for housing pets.  We depend upon foster homes to take in pets until permanent homes are found. Fostering an animal can be as short as overnight or as long as several months.  The animals are placed in foster homes where nurturing begins, and during that time their medical process is completed before being adopted.  If you are interested in becoming a foster caretaker to a pet, please contact us.

Some Basic Requirements:  Foster homes must have a city permit and cannot take in more than two foster pets at one time.  All personal pets in the home that are more than three months old must be licensed and vaccinated, and the homeowner must have a good reputation for caring for animals.

Shilo (with adopted parents) and Scooby lead the walk.

PAWS IN THE PARK...

DOG WALK-A-THON

Prairie Paws Rescue wants to thank everyone who came to our Dog Walk-A-Thon on Sunday.  You are simply GRRRRReat!!

Thanks to so many participants, our first Paws in the Park Dog Walk-A-Thon was a great success!   Dogs from all over the county arrived with their best friends in tow... men, women, children, babies... all happy to have a chance to meet other dogs and dog-lovers.  Vibrant dog-talk flowed continuously... stories about special dog-friends, facts about health care, good grooming tips, effective doggy diets (and human diets, too!), characteristics of a good vet, traveling tips... People-education took place on a grand scale while their furry friends looked on and enjoyed the show and the wonderful companionship of like-souls.  It was a SPECTACULAR day!

Thanks again to everyone who participated, and... look forward to another Paws in the Park Dog Walk-A-Thon next year!
